• Fall Dance/Open House: An event that takes place in October. It includes an open house where families can visit classrooms and a dinner and dance after. There is a theme, a DJ is present and food is sold. 

• Spring Fling: A carnival type event that takes place in April. Most of it is held outdoors and there are games, food, bouncers and face painting. 

• Outdoor Education (5th grade parents only): Outdoor education is an overnight trip our 5th graders take to Ceta Canyon. They participate in a number of activities while they are there and have a lot of fun! 

• Outdoor education fundraising (4th grade parents only): 4th grade parents on this committee spend their 4th grade year fundraising for the next year’s outdoor education trip.

• Learning for a Lifetime: One of the best days of the year in our opinion! We have community members come to Coronado and teach our kids all about what they do on a daily basis. Some members that come: THS athletes, weathermen, gymnastics, doctors, ranchers and pilots. Our LFAL chairmen plan and execute the entire day. 

• Ghoul Grams: These are fun notes with treats attached that kids/parents/staff can purchase in October. They get delivered to classrooms at the end of October. This is part of 4th grade outdoor ed fundraising.

• Candy Grams: These are fun notes with treats attached that kids/parents/staff can purchase in February. They get delivered to classrooms on the day of the valentine’s parties. This is part of 4th grade outdoor ed fundraising.   

• Staff Appreciation: Staff appreciation provides treats in our staff lounge every month. They also plan a staff appreciation lunch at an off campus location during teacher appreciation week in May. 

• School Spirit Nights: We have a fundraising dinner at a restaurant every month. 

• Birthday Celebrations: We plan and execute small birthday celebrations each month for the kids whose birthdays fall in that month. 

• Marquee Sign: We are responsible for changing the marquee in front of the school monthly. 

• Fundraiser: A yearly fundraiser that PTA does. It varies every year as to what it is.  

• Wonderland Ticket Sales:  We organize the school’s wonderland ticket sales that happen in the spring for our school wide wonderland night. 

• Yearbook: The yearbook chairmen plan and execute everything that involves our Coronado yearbook. From taking pictures to working with the yearbook company on layout, orders and distribution. 

• Homeroom Parents: Two parents are needed from each homeroom to plan the holiday and valentine parties and be a communicator and liaison for PTA events. Help inform teachers and parents of upcoming class and school events. Sends home reminder notes about parties to all parents, ask for donations for parties. Makes sure the class is adequately covered on party days in terms of snacks/food, drinks, plates, napkins, craft, etc. A sign-up sheet for this will come home in September. 

• School T-Shirts: We design and sell all of our school shirts. Every Friday is spirit day at Coronado! The class that has the most shirts on wins a prize and gets to keep the spirit trophy for a week!
